Birth Aims Blog
Birth Aims Blog is a blog all about pregnancy, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding and parenting. It’s from my perspective, that of a mum to 3, doula, breastfeeding counsellor, birth activist and self-confessed birth nerd. What do I do when I’m not mothering my babies? You’ll find me supporting women in person, as a doula, breastfeeding counsellor or activist. I volunteer most of my time to incredible not-for-profit organisations, you can read more here. I’m highly involved in my community, often running local support groups both in person and online. We love to shop local, work local, ‘play’ local!
Our community is incredible, we live in Blackheath, near the top of the beautiful Blue Mountains! We live with and love animals, and throughout my life I’ve been surrounded by them. Our family includes our three babies (1, 3 and 6 years old), my husband and I, our dog (Obi), bird (Paulie, he is 20 years old!), guinea pig (Cuddles) and 3 chickens. We hope to get more land one day and maybe then we’ll satisfy my childhood dream (and that of my daughter now) to get a horse! I love our environment, and in my ‘past life’ was a researcher of plant physiology, which has been an incredible journey and taught me so much!
For now, that’s it from me! Feel free to browse my blog. If you’d like to touch base, or have something you think I should write about, please let me know. For more up to date thoughts and information, check out my facebook or instagram pages!
