Birth Aims Blog
Birth Aims Blog is a blog all about pregnancy, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding and parenting. It’s from my perspective, that of a mum to 3, doula, breastfeeding counsellor, birth activist and self-confessed birth nerd. What do I do when I’m not mothering my babies? You’ll find me supporting women in person, as a doula, breastfeeding counsellor or activist. I volunteer most of my time to incredible not-for-profit organisations, you can read more here. I’m highly involved in my community, often running local support groups both in person and online. We love to shop local, work local, ‘play’ local!
Our community is incredible, we live in Blackheath, near the top of the beautiful Blue Mountains! We live with and love animals, and throughout my life I’ve been surrounded by them. Our family includes our three babies (1, 3 and 6 years old), my husband and I, our dog (Obi), bird (Paulie, he is 20 years old!), guinea pig (Cuddles) and 3 chickens. We hope to get more land one day and maybe then we’ll satisfy my childhood dream (and that of my daughter now) to get a horse! I love our environment, and in my ‘past life’ was a researcher of plant physiology, which has been an incredible journey and taught me so much!
For now, that’s it from me! Feel free to browse my blog. If you’d like to touch base, or have something you think I should write about, please let me know. For more up to date thoughts and information, check out my facebook or instagram pages!

Calmbirth Birth Experience
“We benefited greatly from attending the Calmbirth course with Aimee as educator. Aimee is welcoming and creates a safe space for participants to engage with her, the course content, and each other. Aimee is clearly very passionate about what she does, has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share, and does so very generously. We especially appreciated that she was able to speak authoritatively and fairly on the state of research and evidence in the area and know this will be a great help for us to communicate with our care providers.”
A positive second birth after a difficult first experience: a VBAC
“It was the most beautiful, empowering and enlightening experience of my entire life and I am so thankful for it.
It completely healed me.
Although my first birth wasn’t the birth I wanted, it shaped me. It opened my eyes and showed me what kind of mother and woman I wanted to be, and am. It was a necessary part of my journey.”
